101 – Radical Clowning

This workshop is an intro to clowning and improv games. Here we will combine spontanaety and imagination to develop tools to creatively confront injustice around us. Derived from the tactics of the “Theatre of the Oppressed” movement, radical clowning is now used in many countries by workers, teachers and students, psychotherapists, and activists on the front lines of protests. By being approachable and humorous, radical clowns are in a unique position to call attention to problems like the abuse of power. Clowning is a versatile medium which requires no props, leaves no trace, and can infiltrate streets, schools, trade-unions, demonstrations, prisons…
