Queen’s students in the sociology class Race and Ethnic Relations have been studying race, ethnicity, racism, inequality, multiculturalism, immigration, and institutional practices affecting diversity. This year, for the first time, students will present their research in a visual poster form. Topics include historical accounts of racism in Canada, hate crime on the internet, Africville, ethnicity and Quebec nationalism, racism in sport, racism in the media, eugenics, and race/gender intersections.

Everyone is welcome to meet these students involved in promoting understanding about racial and ethnic diversity as they prepare to move from the boundaries of their classroom out to the public. Refreshments available. Forms for participants’ comments will be provided.
