Uprooting Oppression - Workshop

Friday March 23, from 7:00 to 9:00pm

Oppression exists in our society and even within our social movements. Certain groups of people (women, people of colour, queer, or poor people, differently–abled people, and so on) lack the power and privileges that other groups benefit from every day.

This workshop will be led by Zahra Murad, an anti-oppression trainer from QPIRG. Zahra has used popular education and anti-oppression workshops to debunk power and privilege with numerous community groups over the last few years.

Together, we will examine different forms of oppression and how they are interconnected. We aim to create a safe space where people can come together to discuss power, privilege, and oppression and to strategize actions to fight oppression.

This two-hour workshop will include discussion, individual reflection and interaction in small groups.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Spaces are limited. Free.
