Train-the-Trainer Workshop on Anti-Oppression
Saturday March 24, from 10:00am to 3:30pm
This in-depth workshop is aimed at people who wish to lead workshops on power, privilege and issues of oppression. It is encouraged that participants have attended some anti-oppression training already. This workshop will be led by Zahra Murad, an anti-oppression trainer from QPIRG. Zahra has used popular education and anti-oppression workshops to debunk power and privilege with numerous community groups over the last few years.
In this workshop, participants will gain skills and knowledge to enable them to better spread the anti-oppression message! We will cover:
· Issues of oppression
· The role of the facilitator
· Setting workshop goals
· Preparing for the workshop
· Language and terms
· Workshop activities
· Situations and scenarios
· Resources
The workshop includes large and small group work, discussion and a resource manual to take home.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Spaces are limited. Snacks are included. Free.
