Farming in Palestine: An Occupation Like No Other

Fair-trade farming as a way towards peace in the Middle East
Wednesday, March 7, 2007
7:30pm - 9:00pm
Dunning Hall, Room 10, 94 University Ave, Queen’s University

Being a farmer today is challenging in any country. But under occupation, farming in Palestine becomes an act of resistance and a labour of love.

Founder of Zatoun, fair trade olive oil from Palestine, Robert Massoud took part in the olive harvest this past November and shares his experiences and impressions of a land and a people under occupation.

The presentation, illustrated with photos, looks at life in Palestinian villages, towns and cities; farms, factories and schools; as well homes, streets and camps. There will be fair-trade Palestinian olive oil and soap.
