Hip Hop Dance Class with Flow Performance Crew
Location TBA, free
FLOW Dance Club was started in 2006. It was created as an all Hip-Hop club, separate from the main dance club at Queen’s University, focused specifically around freestyle. The purpose of the club was to promote the freedom of dance and to help others gain an understanding, love and feeling for hip-hop music. The club’s main goal was to create an environment full of happiness, positivity, and family through dance.
Originally, the club was created for anyone to come out and have a good time and learn a few dance steps. Since then, the club has grown to a size never imagined. It now teaches several weekly classes in which students work towards performing in a recital at the end of each term. It also consists of a performance crew that has regular performances around Kingston and within the Queen’s community. Although the club mainly focuses around teaching choreography, it still promotes freestyle by having regular sessions for anyone to attend and learn.
We hope to not only represent Queen’s University in the best way possible, but to show that there is a great and growing hip-hop community in Kingston.
