Disabled people are an important part of every community but noticeably absent in most aspects of community organizing. Not only do activist struggles fail to take up disabled politics as issues, but we often fail to make such organizing accessible. A true commitment to self-determination and social justices requires us to develop this, a radical disability politic and work in solidarity with disabled people.
This workshop will introduce people to radical disability politics, how disability is used in our society to maintain and perpetuate oppression and how to work towards making the organizing work we do inclusive and accessible.”
